Which conditions do you treat?
Although we specialize in the treatment of ADD/ADHD, we have an expert staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and coaches who diagnose, evaluate and treat a broad spectrum of emotional and cognitive conditions. We have helped people challenged by anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, developmental and learning disorders, eating disorders, OCD, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other conditions to lead happier, more productive lives. We have also helped people who find themselves at a point where they are just not satisfied with some aspect of their lives and are in need of expert, non-judgmental support, sometimes just for a very brief period.
Which age groups do you treat?
We treat patients of all ages – from 4 to 90! Interestingly enough, many of our adult patients at The Hallowell Center are people who have never previously spoken to, or sought advice from, a professional in the mental health field to help them overcome their challenges.
Are you an “all-in-one” facility?
Yes. The Hallowell Center is an “all-in-one” facility (testing/treatment/medications). All of our evaluative, diagnostic and treatment services take place under one roof. top
What does an evaluation involve?
The Hallowell Center offers several different types of evaluations, depending on your individual needs. All evaluations begin with an in-person, formal initial consultation or intake session conducted by one of our clinicians at The Hallowell Center. During the intake session, we work to understand your unique challenges and concerns and create a detailed history – including educational, work and relationship experiences, along with a history of individual health, family history, past treatment and developmental history. After listening to and evaluating all of this background information, the clinician may, in some instances, be able to provide a preliminary assessment right away and recommend a customized treatment plan. In other instances, however, the clinician may determine that additional testing is required in order to complete the evaluation process.
How much do evaluations cost?
Because of the unique nature of each patient evaluation, it is hard to quote an exact figure. It really depends upon the number of diagnostic tests and sessions needed to effectively evaluate and diagnose a particular condition. New patients meet with a Hallowell Center clinician for a formal intake session. Based on the outcome of that session, we should be able to recommend a specific testing and diagnostic schedule and provide you with a more accurate cost estimate.
Which payment options do you accept?
The Hallowell Center accepts cash, checks and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover). Payment is due at time of service.
Do you take insurance?
The Hallowell Center does not accept insurance. However, we will prepare an itemized bill with all the relevant information for you to submit to your insurance company in the event that your policy provides for some sort of reimbursement. We encourage you to contact your insurance company directly to determine details of coverage and reimbursement. top
